It seems that Chevrolet has been copying Porsche's strategy in recent years by releasing many versions of the venerable Corvette. 

The basic model sets the stage, followed by a more powerful and aggressive Z06, 

a well-rounded variant that uses the Z06's broad body and base engine, and lastly a totally thermonuclear all-out attack in the shape of a ZR1.
